Baby Registry?

Just looking for some tips on what to register for. We are going to be first time parents and I'm having trouble putting together a registry, I'm not sure what we really need verse the things that would be nice, but not necessary. Any help would be appreciated .

Babies R Us & Target have lists available to get you started.  But a lot of the stuff they recommend isn't really necessary (or needed).  I really suggest buying the "Baby Bargains" book.  It helped me a lot (and saved us tons of money).  I also suggest reading the nurseries & baby gear message board.  You can get a lot of opinions on certain products.  I did a lot of research before adding certain things to my registry too.
