TTC after 35

First Lupron Injection

Had my first lupron injection tonight and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I got so worked up over nothing! Whew! Now I don't have to fret about it all day every day.

Me: 36 - Unexplained - Facter V Leiden DH: 34 - No issues TTC = 2 yrs and 2 m/c Daughter born April 2009 - 3 rounds of Clomid TTC #2 Since Jan 2010 Unsuccessful IUI - Sept 2010 Unsuccessful IVF - Nov 2011 Starting FET for April 2011

Re: First Lupron Injection

  • The needles are very small.  I agree that don't hurt that bad.  Now Follitism shots...they suck.

  • Glad it wasn't a problem.  I posted this on the IF board but I swear I think I have dull needles or the skin of an alligator.  I'm having a hard time getting the needle in with the Lupron - the Gonal F pen is a breeze though.

  • I had to watch a video on YouTube to get motivated. It really helped. It was under MrsStephanie Lupron. Where are you in the process?

  • Good for you! I was so scared and didn't have my DH around. I really didn't have a problem with either, though. It's not that bad : )
  • Good for you!  I didn't think the Follistim was so bad.  I was waaay nervous too.  Now that I've survived, I kinda like that I was able to do it.  Chalk it up to one more life experience!

I should clarify - the needle penetration wasn't bad - it's the fact that once I have to push the dial in...I tend to twist the needle in my belly more.  Once I started adding the follitism to the mix, is when I wound up with lots of bruising.
