We are naming LO Donald Greig (both family names). Which spelling of Donnie (Donny) do you prefer? I think Donnie is more masculine, but DH isn't convinced. Opinions (on the spelling)?

Even though I usually prefer the -y ending for most boys' nicknames (Billy, Bobby, Johnny, Sammy, etc.) I think Donnie looks better for some reason. Donny looks odd.
ETA: Shocked to see so many votes for Donnie! Doesn't Donny Osmond spell it with a "y"? He's the only famous Donny I can think of; I haven't known a lot of others IRL but I've never seen it spelled Donnie and would assume a Donnie was a girl.

There's Donnie Wahlberg from NKOTB. Or that movie, Donnie Darko.
I've personally only seen it spelled Donny when associated with Osmond. I agree, it looks like a misspelling of Danny.

I think Donny DEFINITELY looks more masculine.
