I posted this on my monthly board but wanted to share here too.
Today was my 1st appt.
She did the u/s and said that I am measuring a few days behind what I thought. More like 6w 2d.
There was no hb visible. She said that we are right on the time borderline so she wants me to come back in a week to have it done again. They did a Beta and my level was at 12,000 so she said that it should be showing up at any time. I go for my next beta in two days, on Friday.
There was a yolk and full sack and she thought she might have seen a fetal pole.
This next week is going to drag very slowly. We are hoping for the best.
I've read lots of things online of this not being totally uncommon and the hb ultimately showing up and then others of it being a blighted ovum/chemical pregnancy. Time will tell...
Anyone have experience with a later visible hb? After 6w 2d?
Re: Cautiously Optimistic
I have been there. With Joseph, we had an u/s every 3 days it seemed. First was just thickened lining, then a sac, then a pole then finally that glorious little flicker of a heartbeat closer to 6w5d.
It is a dreadfully stressful wait and I wish you weren't having to wait. Your betas look great and that little flicker should be showing up at any time.

As stressful and hard as it is (and trust me, I know the waiting is painful), it sounds like everything is great. I agree - 8 days is a freaking eternity at times like this. Keep your chin up and try not to let Dr. Google freak you out.

I had an u/s at 5w2d -- two sacs, that's it.
6w: only one sac, yolk sac and fetal pole. No h/b
6w4d - heartbeat!
And my days were dead on, since I did IVF and we knew exactly how old they were.
exactly same situation with me this time...and it all turned out very well for us
i know how hard it is to wait and wonder but like harmony said, try to stay off the internet. it tended to freak me out more than helped.
I had the same thing with O. I had my first u/s at 6w1d. All we saw was the yolk sac, no fetal pole. I went back a week later and there he was with a beautiful heartbeat. I was measuring a whole week behind and I was positive about my dates so I was still worried something was wrong. But as you can see in my siggy it worked out :-).
Been there with #1 and using the chart of when you had your last period to determine how far along you are is not accurate unless you have an exact 28 day cycle. With that said, I was suppose to be over 7 weeks pregnant per the "chart" but when I had the ultrasound, I was only 5k2 day. There was nothing but a black hole. No yolk sack no fetal pole...just a black little cycle. I didn't do any beta testing, but I went back in 2 weeks a little over 7 weeks gest and that was a little bean with a strong heartbeat.
