What is the average cost for these things?
I really like the Baby Jogger City Classic because it looks durable for when we go for walks/runs around our town and such but it looks like it costs $600...EEEK! I see the City Mini is about half the cost. Is $300-$600 the norm for a good jogger stroller?
How did you choose your stroller? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm clueless at all of this stuff right now.
Re: s/o strollers...
I'm a super bargain shopper. I wasn't willing to pay full price for anything...except our stroller (OK and maybe the carseats lol). It's a little different since we needed a double and nothing will make your life miserable faster than a bad double stroller, but if it's something you're going to use a lot, I'd bite the bullet and spend the money.
I did end up finding our double on sale for 33% off, but it was still about $400 and you know what? It's worth every penny. I literally think "OMG I'm glad we spent the money!" to myself every.single.time I use it. But then, I use it a lot - if you think you'll only use it once a week, it might not be as much of a priority to you. (Oh, and if you're deciding between the Classic and the Mini, I'd save a little cash and go for the Mini - I debated between those two for a long time, but I have no regrets about getting the Mini.)
Anyway, when you decide on which stroller you'd like, keep an eye out at places like Babies R Us and Amazon - they sometimes have really good sales on strollers to help keep the cost down.
Also, if you're looking for an actual jogging stroller, you should be aware that although Baby Jogger has "jogger" in the brand name, they're not jogging strollers. I think Malia has one (a BOB?) so she can probably put in a recommendation if you want a real jogging stroller.
I love Hawaii!

We have been using the Graco Snugrider (=Snap N Go) but Kaya is soon to outgrow her infant seat so I'm shopping around for something, too. I just can't make up my mind. We have a BOB Revolution and I love it for jogging but it's so bulky and heavy that I can't see myself getting it in and out of the car often or traveling with it. Plus, it seems like it would be big to navigate small spaces like when you're shopping. I SO wish I could bare to dish out the money for a Bugaboo, but the thought makes me cringe. I'm thinking of getting the UppaBaby G-luxe. Anyone have one? Thoughts?
i was about to say - my friend raves about her UppaBaby Vista - but then i just looked at prices. nm.
Yeah, totally. But the g-luxe is like a deluxe umbrella stroller and it's about $159.
WOW! All such great tips and suggestions ladies! Thank you!
I never realized how different the same type of stroller could really be. It's crazy and overwhelming. MH and I looked into things a little more last night and I think the City Mini might work better for our needs while the Elite might be more than what we want or would use it for. We have a lot of crazy trails and paths in our neighborhood so I thought the Elite would be a better and sturdier option.
Thank you again for all the recs ladies, it was very helpful!

I can't say about the G-Luxe, but we have the UppaBaby Vista, and I have to say, MH (who originally needed some convincing!) and I both agree it's worth every penny! The quality is outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to get a G-Luxe when the time comes for a smaller umbrella stroller.
that's good to know. we have a snap n go, but haven't decided what to do after that. would it still be worth getting if we only need it after our LO grows out of the infant carrier? should we just exchange the snap n go?
If you mean the Vista, I don't know if you know that you can get an adapter to make it fit your carseat. There are adapters for Graco, Chicco, an Peg Perego carseats. In fact, we bought ours from a local shop rather than a major retailer (it's pretty much price fixed, anyway), and they threw in the Graco adapter for free! It's great to have the option of the bassinet (which he loved for the first few months....starting to outgrow it now, but it's great for a kicker and wiggleworm, which he is!), the regular seat (which he's starting to love now, since he loves to look around), or your carseat. This feature is what sold us, since we figure we can get tons of use out of it for a long time. That and since we are tall, and we didn't kick the bottom basket with our long strides when we walked.
we hardly ever use the stroller. i questioned if we even needed one and did not even plan to get one since i use the baby carrier if i ever need to take her somewhere....but, we got one for the occasional use, and so the babysitter can take her on walks.... so when i saw a good deal come up on shnoop for the silver cross fizz, that's what we got it's a great umbrella stroller that is similar to the Volo but is better in a few areas.
not sure that helps, since it sounds like you want more than just an umbrella stroller :P

We have the Baby Jogger City Classic and it's OK, but I would recommend the BOB Revolution instead.
Why? 1) You can walk AND run with the BOB, but the Babby Jogger is walking only, no running; 2) The infant car seat sits deep in the BOB carriage while on the Baby Jogger, it sits way up high, this was a problem for me, so we just used the Snap n Go.
FYI, we got the BJCC on sale for about $250. If you wait for the REI sale, you can get the BOB for 15-20% off.
But because you can't run with the Baby Jogger, we went and bought the BOB Ironman for running. I would rather have ONE stroller for both functions than two strollers that are virtually identical but for different purposes.

This does help! Thank you Malia! After someone mentioned above that you might have had these I checked out your blog to see how you liked them. I will keep my eye out on those REI sales because that will be something I wouldn't be able to pass up Thank you Malia
