This probably seems strange since I already have 2! I was on the pill when I got pregnant with DD and we didn't use any BC after that because we were hoping to have them close in age.
Did you take time off from hormonal BC before trying or did you start the first month off? What kind of vitamins did you take? I have not found an OTC prenatal that doesn't make me sick but I'm not sure my OB will write a prescription without an appointment.

We didn't take any time off, but we didn't really start trying until 3 or 4 months into it either (that's when I bought OPKs and started paying attention to stuff).
I take the Target OTC prenatals, but they haven't bothered me at all. I've heard that you can also take two Flinstones chewables in place of a prenatal.
I took 3 months off of BC before officially trying.
And I took an OTC prenatal for my entire pregnancy. My OB waw 100% fine with that. It was generic too.
We didn't take any time off BC before TTC, but we weren't actively trying right away. My OB had no issue with trying right away after stopping BC, she just said they don't really count the first three months off BC as part of your TTC time. If I were to end up having TTC trouble they would start counting cycles after the first 3 off BC because your cycle can be a little out of sync during that time.
I am also taking the Target OTC prenatal (it's really close to Centrum) and my doc is fine with it, she said there really isn't much of a difference between OTC and prescription prenatals other than price.
I don't have any advice on the TTC part because we were only sorta kinda trying when I got pregnant with DS.
I take Nature Made Prenatals and have been happy with them. Some other multivitamins have upset my stomach in the past, but I haven't had any issues with these. (And I've been taking them over two years now.)
We waited two months after going off BC (I was using NuvaRing, if that matters). My gyno suggested three months, my PCP said one, so we split the difference. Got pregnant on our third cycle TTC, fifth off BC.
As for prenatals, I liked PreNate Elite - it's prescription and expensive but it helped with the vitamin-related nausea. I also took them right before I went to bed, and I took them with Vitamin Water to disguise the taste.

We didn't really take time off - I went off in November '07 and we weren't actively trying but weren't preventing either. In March '08 we actively started trying.
My OB gave me an RX for a chewable prenatal and they were disgusting. I have problems swallowing large pills, but I did well for a while on the generic Target brand of prenatals until my nausea kicked in. Now I take two childrens gummy vitamins that are comparable to 2 Flintstones which my OB also okayed.
I went off BCP about 4 months before we planned to start trying, only because I wanted my cycle to regulate. I've heard mixed opinions about whether or not you should wait 3 months after going off the pill. I've heard that the chemicals leave your body pretty quickly. You might want to ask your doctor his/her specific opinion.
As for prenatals, I take Rainbow Light Just Once - I have no issues with nausea and they specifically are sold as being "gentle on the stomach." I've found them in grocery stores and target.
We started trying right away after coming off BC and my OB didn't have any issues with it. I also had textbook cycles immediately coming off too.
As far as the prenatals I never had issues with nausea, but I take the Target prenatal at bedtime.
We didn't take any time off really. I just stopped BCP in the beginning of September 09 and got my BFP on my second cycle. I was still trying to get the hang of charting.
I like the NatureMade PNV as well.

With baby #1 we didn't wait anytime after going of BCP and it took me 5 months since my cycles were all over the place and always have been. I never went back on BCP after having #1 since we wanted to have two pretty close together.
I am now taking 2 flinestones complete in place of my prenatals since they were making feel so sick. My doctor recommended that.
I went off the pill in Feb. but we didn't really want to conceive until June-ish. My PCP said the pill needs to get out of your system and can take a few months. My OB said I could get preggo the first month off. So we were cautious since June was our target.
I take these prenatals and haven't had any issues with getting sick from them. I started them right in February. https://www.promiseprenatal.com/ I like them b/c the vitamins are altered according to your body's needs in each trimester.
