What are you getting and why? I know there were some 2nd + timers who gave some recs awhile back but I forgot to bookmark the page.
If you are a first time mommy, which wrap have you chosen and why...
2nd+timers...you've probably used your share of them so give us your thoughts on what worked best for you.
TIA!
Re: Let's talk wraps...moby vs bjorn, etc
First of all, I am going to sit back and learn from this post. I want to know too!
Second of all, your baby name ticker just cracked me up!
I'm a 1st time mom but have chosen the Bjorn for most use. My best friend, however, loves the Moby Wrap but it's a bit more confusing and takes more time to get the baby in it.
My husband is super scared about wraps suffocating the baby so he definitely likes the bjorn better.
Good luck!
I am avoiding the bjorn for two reasons - 1) i've heard that it doesn't seat the baby in good position for the spine. We're extra cautious about all things spine. 2) I've heard that it gets very uncomfortable for the wearer. That would be me, and i'm not into discomfort.
I have a moby to use with A is small. I've heard only great things about them.
I was planning to get an Ergo for when A is a little bigger, but saw the Lillebaby Everywear on one of the deal-a-day sites and got that instead. It's very very similar to the Ergo but can face outward where the Ergo cannot.
If I had to do it over again, I'd probably get the Ergo instead of the Lillebaby, just because it comes so highly recommended. I'm hoping the Lillebaby works well for us though.

[spoiler]
I put both, well sorta. I have several friends that swear by them for different reasons. The moby is great for grocery store etc. the one I know allot of people have recommended instead of the bjorn which I heard can be uncomfortable is the one by ergo. Allot of woman in my yoga class also use the ergo they say it is really comfortable and easy to get on and off.
I forgot to mention, that here in San Diego there is a group called the babywearers and you can go to their meeting and they will teach you how to use the various carriers and also they have a library of them that you can check out/borrow to see if you and your LO like it. Perhaps there is a group like that near you!
Just found a great comparison chart. No actual user info but I am finding it helpful!

We're getting a moby-style wrap for when the kid is little, then getting an Ergo later on.
I say moby-style, because you can literally go to Joann Fabrics, buy material and make it into wrap, no-sew, for like, $10. I already made one in a super lightweight, gauze-y fabric. The thing I'll say is that, reading the directions it seems super, ridiculously crazy to figure out how to use the thing, but watching a video on youtube it's super easy.

I hated the bjorn. It would sweat like crazy when I wore it and it hurt my back once ds was 10 lbs.
I loved the Moby, it was easy on my back, I didn't sweat my_ass off wearing it and it was simple to use.
I bought a mei tai style carrier at a consignment sale-it's an off brand (infantino) that normally is for sale at Target.com (it's called the wrap and tie). I figured for $12, it was worth a try. The baby will face me, and later, it can be worn on your back. It's also nice that it isn't one that comes in a 'size' because my DH wants to try doing it as well.
Then I got super lucky and got an ergo, so I am going to use that with an infant insert as well. But before I knew about that, we were thinking of trying the balboa baby sling from BRU.
Ultimately I wanted to try a carrier that would be able to be used by both DH and I, and wouldn't be too tough to figure out.
More Green For Less Green
I found this page to be very helpful. I learned a lot about the natural position of baby's legs, hips and spines.

I'm registered for the Ergo. Based on the research I've done, babies should not face outward because it goes against the natural C-shape of the spine. Also, their legs should not dangle but be supported, so their hips are not under stress, possibly causing hip dysplasia. HTH
I'm Moby-stupid so we probably won't get one of those even though I'd really like to try it again.
We have a Beco (similar to an Ergo, but comes with the infant insert) that we LOVE. I can still carry DS in it pretty comfortably - at 25 pounds - and it fits both DH and I well.
I am kind of a baby carrier whore. I've have pretty much everything. I am currently coveting the Petunia Pickle Bottom/Ergo collaboration, like this one.
