Hawaii Babies

I need stroller help...

Currently, we have the Graco Alano FlipIt travel system...and it's ok.  I don't love it...but it does an ok job for now.

Anyhow, I'm looking for another stroller, preferably something that is lighter and easier to move in and out of our car and through airports.  We travel a fair bit with LO, so having something that folds down quickly and easily is a big plus!  We primarily use the stroller for trips to the mall and walking around the neighborhood.

I've short-listed the following:

BabyJogger - City Mini

BOB - Rev 12" AW

Bumbleride - Flyer, Flite and Indie

Does anyone have one of these strollers?  Would you recommend them?  Any others that you absolutely love?

Thanks!

Re: I need stroller help...

  • I love the BOB revolution (not sure on tire size), BUT it's not easy to travel with.  At least not with a small-ish car - it takes up most of the trunk.  Also (not sure if this is normal, but it's one thing that bugs me) there isn't a way to latch it together once folded down so as I'm lifting it into the car if I don't grab it the right way it starts to unfold.  That said, 99% of the time we use it for walks around the neighborhood and it's wonderful.  I also take it to meet up with mom friends for walks around the lake and it's great for that too - smooth ride and I know I'm not planning to shop or something (and thus won't need any extra trunk space).

I recently used my MIL's Bugaboo Bee and LOVED it for shopping.  It folds up so small and glides so well.  ::sigh::  Guess that is why it's $600+.  Her friend just gave it to her for the times she babysits my neice/nephew - so jealous!

SIL has the Bumbleride Indie and I have pushed my neice around a few times - it's really nice too but I got the feeling it wouldn't be AS smooth as the BOB on surfaces outside a mall and parking lot if that makes sense?  I walked along a driveway and it just seemed a little more bumpy than what I'm use to with the BOB.

  • I don't have experience with any of them, but this forum has some people who are really knowledgable:

    BabyJogger - City Mini

We have this and LOVE it.  It was by far the easiest to collapse :)  One handed is all I can say.  The BOB was a consideration but it was a pain to collapse IMO.

  • We have the Double City Mini, and all I can say is that it's my absolute favorite baby related thing in our house (aside from the actual babies lol). Even the double is super lightweight and maneuverable, plus really easy to fold. LOVE it. Smile
  • Thanks for all the input ladies! :)  The City Mini is our #1 choice at this point, but I've read a few reviews of how the babies can't sit up straight because there is no "back support".  Is that an issue with your City Minis?

  • We had them lying down for quite some time, then started raising the seat backs from when they were about 3 months old. They're pretty much all the way up now and we don't have any problem with them not being able to sit up. They do slouch down when they're tired, but in general they don't seem to have any issues with the design. *shrug*
  • Ok...good to know.  Now, the only issue is trying to find the City Mini on our next trip abroad (since they don't sell them here in India!)  :)

  • i got the silver cross fizz when it was on sale on shnoop (it comes up from time to time on there) and i think it's a great umbrella stroller :) maneuvers well, folds up easily, etc. also has a cup holder which i guess it something other people really like about it
