Daycare in Bel Air area

Hi ladies! I am sad to say the time has officially come to look into daycare. For those of you who may not know. He has been home with the in-laws since I went back to work a few months ago. We were planning to put him in somewhere when he turned one, but think we would like to get him in sooner. It is a bittersweet day for sure. We have already looked at two centers in Bel Air - Childtime and Goddard. I am looking for some recommendations on other places. I am not sure what else is around. Any positive or negative experiences from either place would be great.

  • I'm not sure which Goddard you looked into...but my son goes to Goddard off Granary Rd. We have had such a positive experience with them. He's been there about a year now and I couldn't be happier. The crazy thing...I think most of our development takes their kids there ranging from infant up to 4 years of age! Childtime is great too. My good friend had their son there from infant to 4...he is now in in kindergarten. They were happy with it. We chose Goddard b/c of the many rec's from our neighborhood and b/c we were happy with their curriculum as well.

  • We actually looked at the one on Emmorton bc it is more convenient for us. I might have to call to see if they have any availability and take a tour since I think they are all privately owned.

  • Are you looking for in-home too? Or just centers?

    How about Celebree?

  • Yes, you are right about them being independently owned. I have heard great things about the Emmorton one too. A friend of mine actually chose that one b/c of convenience as well. I think she is at APG, so, it made sense for her.

I am not against in-home. Just looking for other options. I have never heard of Celebree. I am off to google and see where they are located.

  • I am very happy with Kindercare but it is in Abingdon.

  • I was given the name Oak Valley Kids when I was looking for Daycare. I actually interviewed them and I really liked them. They are a little bit out of my way. You may want to look into them.

  • We've been really happy with La Garderie (across from HCC)
  • Oak valley kids is owned by my friend. I highly recommend her! There are tons of celebrees around, but I've had personal experience with the owners that left a bad taste in my mouth. They are all about making money, not what's best for kids. Obviously they are a business and need to make a profit, but there needs to be a happy medium.
  • My 19 month old niece has been going to Stonewall Day Care on Mountain Road (not too far from the Bel Air Rd intersection) since she was about 6 months old and my BIL/SIL are very pleased with it. We've considered switching Sydney from an in-home to there, but we're still contemplating it.
