Hmm...I don't know. It's an interesting article. Both of my girls were jaundice. ODD's numbers were pretty high, but they never treated her. Between my two, they changed the "high risk level", so even though Amelia's numbers were lower, she needed the phototherapy treatment. For 2 days in the hospital, and 1 day at home.
Just about every baby I've known in the last year or two has had some kind of treatment/monitoring for jaundice...it's seems way to common to be linked to Autism...
I agree with PP...there were just so many variable's in the article too that it just seemed like they were stretching to get the data. DS was watched for Jaundice but never had light therapy and really wasn't in any danger levels with the bilirubin testing just a little yellowish skin for a couple days...but according to the study he was at a very low risk because he was my first born and he was born in the summer months...which is part of the reason why I think the article was a stretch.
I didn't read that article but l did watch it on Fox9 last week Where they talked a lot about how this whole link was only based on data & not looked at each individual child.
Aiden also was Jaundice & had a light bed for a few days
Re: Did anyone read the Jaundice/Autism in Newborns article?
