Sooo... about this cookie exchange

How does it work? Are you supposed to bake like 5000 cookies? A plate of cookies for each person? I'm confused?

Oh, and if I can't make what else can I do...LOL

Re: Sooo... about this cookie exchange

  • Last year I made 2 batches (~75 cookies).  We all set our cookies out, and brought an extra container.  We circulated around the table, collecting others' cookies (and sometimes our own) into the extra container.  Basically for each cookie you make, you give it away and get one in return.   I hope that makes sense...

So, do you need to make 5000 ish cookies?  NO!  A few days before the swap, we should have a decent idea on how many people are coming and make enough for each person to get a sample.  You'll wind up with plenty of cookies in exchange for what you give away.  Oh, and some poeple came in with store bought cookies due to time contraints

  • What Kel said! We're also working out a non-cookie-baking option, details to come soon.

  • I'm really looking forward to the cookie exchange this year!  This is the first year that I can make it and I love seeing what other people bake.

Jersey, do you know if folks are submitting their recipes?

I know that we've done that a few times, and I'd definitely like to do it again. I think it would be easier to do it online than on paper. I'll make a website or something like that, and everyone can send them to me and then people can pick and choose which ones they want to download and print. Save the trees, and all ;)
