we're finally approved!!!!
i haven't been posting much the past few weeks since we were in waiting limbo, but today we got our "big envelope" with our approval letter and all the rest of the paperwork to fill out. we still need to get our profile finished (which is way harder than i thought), but it's possible we still may be offered placements without it. anyway, i just needed to share the good news!
it's now becoming really real...we're going to be parents!

nice! What sorts of paperwork do you have to do now that you are approved?
I am always intrigued by how the process is so different between regions.

Our agency uses different placing agencies throughout the country; we get to decide which agency/agencies we want to work with, and then sign the contracts. This way our profile gets shown to a larger pool of people. But it was crazy: we weren't able to be "officially" approved until our homestudy was accepted, and our homestudy couldn't be accepted until the FBI fingerprints came back, which took 9 weeks...
