Will be in a catholic church, so I need my shoulders covered. It will be in mid-end Nov, so I'm expecting a highs in the 60s. So, if it's not long sleeved, I'll likely have to come up with something to wear coat-wise also.
Here are some options:

Re: help with baptism dress
I like the ones from Macys.
Which church will you have the baptism? We've scheduled our LO's christening (yeah, i know, she's not even born yet lol) during the last Sunday in Nov. She's still be tiny but we want to have it then since my family will be here. I'll worry about shopping for an outfit after i give birth.

I also like the ones from Macy's, and second checking Nordstroms as well.
Not sure what size you need - if a 16 would fit, what about this one (also comes in purple and black)?
Or this is in plus sizes (also comes in brown).
I really like this - wish I could wear square necklines!
And this and this are pretty print dresses - you could wear a cardigan.
BTW, I just bought an Adriana Papell dress (I like the one at Macy's that you linked to) to wear to a wedding, and I really recommend the brand - well made and flattering for a larger figure like mine.
me too. I like that the Avenue one could be dressed up or down.
On a side note, I'm surprised it was such a big deal that you were not married in the church. But then again I think I always attend pretty liberal Catholic churches (is that an oxymoron?). The ones near colleges are always pretty lax and now I live in a super liberal town so I guess that is to be expected in order to keep people coming. I think there was a box on the application that asked if you were not married in the church would you be interested in learning more about getting it validated and we said no. No questions asked.
thanks! And thanks for the Adriana Papell rec - it looks solid like it would have some structure to it, which is what I desperately need (Shapewear only does so much!)! I need a 14-16, depending on the cut, you know how that is. I think I'm going to pick up 2 from avenue.com (one being the plum one and the other being the navy one), and I ordered the macy's Adriana Papell, and I'm thinking about one of the colorful tank dresses from Nord's - but I'm trying to find a cardigan or something to wear over it.
I do have a DB near me, but in the last year or so, I haven't been real happy with the material in their dresses - they are usually my go-to place for this sort of thing. Plus, trying to get anywhere these days is just hard - MH sees it as "overtime".
