In my experience, well DS', LOL, there are no cons.  He got it done day 1 or day 2...I wasn't present for it (I'm sure that's a good thing).  If we have another boy, we'll get him circed too.  Easy to keep clean, no infection.  Just good overall.

My personal findings (after experiencing both)

Non is better looking...if you can say any ween is "good looking"; however, a non circ. is easier to perform various sexual acts on due to the skin acting as a fiction type devise.  So, for me, it?s a toss up.  Now I?m all about the size of the sac?.KIDDING, KIDDING!!!

ridiculous aesthetics aside, research shows that circ'ing offers little to no health benefit so why do it?  i don't really see the point.  i understand religious circumcision (although i don't necessarily agree with something being "okay" just b/c of religion, but...). 

at the end of the day, it's your personal choice.

My DH didn't get circ'd until high school so I asked him his thoughts. He said non-circ'd was more work to keep clean compared to circ'd. And he likes the look of the circ'd peen as well. He also said he wishes he had gotten it done when he was born, so he said we should get LO done after he's born.

Uncircumcised all the way! I've had the pleasure of enjoying a few of them and I can say that the men they are attached to generally have better sex. I've never met an unclean one, but then again I wouldn't have sex with an unclean man in general. The two guys I spent the most time with who were uncircumcised said that they've never had infections and never had a problem with the aesthetics- they all look them same erect anyways.

Side story- my nephew had a botched circumcision and has an inverted penis due to scarring. My sister wanted him to "look like his dad" and "look like other boys" and now he won't look like anyone

My husband got it done 7 months after we were married as a grown 24 year old because he never liked being uncircumcised.  I would say get it done.

I have had both, and they tend to look the same when hard. I agree it can look funny when soft. For the guy, circumcision can create less sensitivity since the head is exposed and rubs on underwear etc a lot more.

The d*ck cheese thing made me throw up a little in my mouth haha, that should only happen if they have very poor hygiene. Its just something you will have to teach your little boys. *cut to memories of hearing my mom reminding my little brothers to pull back their foreskin and clean it well, while they were in the tub*

My husband is uncircumcised and wouldnt have it any other way. Any boys we have will also be uncircumcised because it is important for boys to look the same as their dads. As far as I'm concerned that will be a man to man talk done by DH

Um, if a man bathes regularly, which all of my lovers have, then they are not unclean or "cheesy". 

I guess it is more common to be uncirced on the west coast and among Latino men because I have seen more uncirced ones than I have circed.  It doesn't seem weird to me at all or look any uglier to me.  I have read up on it and have heard that they also have more sensation sexually than the circed ones and that the supposed health benefits of circumcision are minor and debatable. 

DH (who is uncirced) was worried about LO being teased in the locker room and we were looking at statistics.  In California now, the majority of baby boys are not circumcised, so the tide has turned over on my side of the country.  I guess the circed boys will be teased in the locker rooms now!

My Bradley class had this discussion last night. From what I remember of all of the facts there is almost no good research to be found on circumcision. I believe it was a religious thing early on.

Last night we talked about pain that the babies go through and it was heartbreaking to think about. Some doctors don't distribute any numbing medications so definitely ask about that. One of the sources used last night said the pain that the babies go through is absolutely excruciating and they will feel it up to 24 hours after the circumcision (but all studies had to stop at the 24 hours because the babies were discharged from the hospital. Some findings said that they could feel paint up to weeks or months afterward.). 

We also learned that babies can be in so much pain that they have issues breast feeding. And up until 6 months they are still trying to build trust in the world so I'm not sure how the pain of circumcision affects that. 

I am totally pro circumcision and I think it's mainly because that's just the way it is supposed to be in my head. I did hear someone say that it's almost 50/50 now in the US for circ and non-circ.

Just my 2 cents.

I've been with two men who have had scarring due to circ's.  Not worth the risk for what seems to be vanity issue.

Besides, once more and more men are uncirc'ed, the cut ones will start to look "weird".

I've never heard a "pro" argument that I can get behind, but I agree with every.single."con" argument.

 I agree with you. This PARTICULAR guy just happened to have a severe sweat issue. He couldnt even walk outside without breaking into a sweat, He had like, overactive sweat glands. That being said, I dont like going down on a guy who has swamp ass, therefore I made him take a shower.

That is complete BS... there is not a doctor in this country that would perform a circ without numbing first. It would be againist standard of care policy and there is NO legititmate, accredited hospital that would allow one of their doctors to perform a procedure that is againist standard of care.

Not to mention it would be considered inhumane and the potential for lawsuit would be TREMENDOUS.

My boys are both circumcized.  I did the research, shared it with H and ultimately left it up to him since he has a penis.

I'm glad we did because the less handling of my children's nether regions I have to do, the better.  My DS2 is very sensitive and gets erections from regular washing, etc.  I know it's natural and totally non-sexual, but it's awkward for me and I can't imagine having to pull back his foreskin and clean it regularly.

My H watched the procedure both times.  He said it wasn't nearly as traumatic as the research led him to believe.

Both of my boys are. Never had any issue with either one. The reason I did choose to do it though is because when my oldest was born, the doctor didn't do it at the hospital (he never informed me of this until afterwards) but I guess he did it at his office when they were 2/3 weeks old. Well long story short my oldest ended up with a fever and and UTI which landed him in the hospital for almost 3 weeks because he was so young. The reason for the UTI, somehow his poop got into the penis. And before any crazy comments YES I was cleaning him, the doctors said sometimes it happens though.

I don't ever want to live through that again.
