Making our Christmas Lists...

We're trying to help our family out by providing good wish lists for the boys for Christmas.  We figure it is the best way to be sure they will get things we actually want them to have.  We're trying to avoid items that need batteries and/or have lots of plastic.

Can anyone share their favorite toys for LOs 3 and under?  Or your favorite places to shop for fun stuff for the kids in your life?

Re: Making our Christmas Lists...

  • I can share Bruce's list - there are some things on it that will need batteries, though. He'll be 3 Nov. 10th, so this includes birthday and Christmas for us.

Sled (this will be a joint gift w/ his sister from S.C)

    Ice Skates (thinking birthday)

     Fish (definitely birthday)

Highlights/Ranger Rick magazine subscription (from an aunt for Christmas)

Tag reading pen, books, map (from an aunt for Birthday I think, we're doing the map for Christmas)

mini/folding trampoline (potentially big gift from grandparents)

puzzle rack (smaller gift from whoever needs advice)

  • My ILs (and step mom too, for that matter) always ask for the list and then buy something that's not on it... We picked a wooden, EF shape sorter that I LOVED and would have gotten for DS... but MIL picked a plastic, batteries-needed little tikes one.  We picked a recycled plastic tool set (the one from Green Toys) and SIL (who is at least a little informed on EFness) picked a fabric set from Melissa and Doug.  The other two SILs haven't picked anything yet... one of them hasn't even gotten DS a Bday present yet.  She said she's getting him clothes though...

  • i do not know what they have already, buuut...

    Balance bikes

    Kitchen/wooden play food

    puzzles

Music set (I think it's Melissa and Doug who have an awesome one)

    Train table

    Wooden cars

I'm sure they'd love any toys really!
