I believe the inserts are just microfiber so they don't require the multiple washes like organic cotton or hemp. The covers only need one wash and I suggest a line dry.
Try washing the inserts once and test for absorbancy!
Like pp said, if they're the microfiber inserts just wash and dry once. If you got any of the organic inserts they need to be prepped seperately several times...I had 3 and boiled them to save a ton of washes. The covers I would wash and line dry. Apparently you're supposed to wash the covers seperate at first so the colors don't bleed, but I didn't read that part until after I had prepped my Ribbit cover with everything else. Nothing happened. Everything came out just fine.
