Walmart.com admits wrong price on Snugride

So I emailed walmart.com customer service today about

them canceling my order and this is the response I received.

"Dear Aimee,


Thank you for contacting Walmart.com 

regarding your cancelled order. 

This order was cancelled due to the item 

having the wrong price on the site. 

We do apologize for the inconvenience."

WTF!?!?! So it wasn't back ordered at all...

so I guess they LIED about that?!?

Why is it MY problem that THEY had the wrong price listed on 

THEIR website?

Isn't that false advertising? 

I mean they had the $58.00 price up there until about 4:00pm today 

when they changed it to $160.54...they canceled my order way before that!

Has anyone's order actually gone through?

I'm not a lawyer but I believe that they legally have to uphold an advertised price.  Obviously it's not worth paying a lawyer to make them uphold the price but you could try and get a pit pushy with them and make them follow through on that price!

When you buy something from them you agree to their terms and in their terms it states they can cancle your order for any reason.  In 08 many people went thru the same thing with Target.  They had 2 Britax Marathon seats priced wrong on the site many people ordered and all orders were canceled.  A few seats were already shipped before the order was caught but all orders were canceled that had not already shipped.  People tried the you have to legally uphold the price but because of the terms they did not have to by law.

Yea something similar to this happened with Best Buy when they were selling a big screen tv or something very expensive for 150 instead of 1500 on Black Friday. All orders were canceled the next day and there was nothing anyone could do about it, even though people fought that it was BB's mistake. Do you think Walmart's rollback price for the Snugride was meant to be 158?

I ordered mine fairly early yesterday morning and the charges have already posted to my bank account. On the confirmation email I received, it stated the following:

 ? If you are paying by credit card or debit card or Bill Me Later^?, your account will not be charged until your order ships.

I paid by debit card, so I guess that means that mine has been shipped and they didn't cancel it? That's what I am hoping anyways! I was really excited for this deal!

Has anyone else had their ordered cancelled?

My order was canceled, but they offered me $15 gift card .  I wasn't surprised that they canceled the orders, I just didn't like that they tried to cover up the reason why.

That is absurd.  When a company messes up and has the wrong price for an item, they should at least honor orders that have already been placed, not cancel them because THEY screwed up.

I hate wal-mart anyways but this makes me hate them even more.
