I had the seller of Sunbabies recommended to me. She sells cloth diapers on ebay (lives in China). Has anyone purchased from this seller before? They are super cheap (about $1-2/diaper) and they are compared to Bum Genius 3.0s. My mom was concerned that if it was coming from China there may be a lead risk. Just curious if anyone has purchased them before!!
Re: sunbabies--CD's from ebay...
I have 2 and loooove them. They are literally my favorites. I ordered 10 more last week. They take about 3 weeks to get here. I didnt even think about lead My mom scared me by saying they were probably made by a bunch of kids in a sweat shop....great for my concience.
Nubunz are also a great brand (or Sweetdollbaby). They are made in Canada I believe. About $6 a diaper or you can buy seconds for $3.
I bought 40 about 2 months ago for my 3 kids in diapers. I wouldn't worry about lead, since I found a post where someone had sent several random ones in for testing and they passed just fine. However, mine are sucking big time right now, which is unfortunate because I LOVED them!
About 10 of the 40 are leaking either through the seams or through the snaps. The diapers say to wash on hot but lists a temp of 104 which is really just warm, and to dry on low. I've been following those directions since I got them (even hung dry for the first 2-3 weeks), and using CD-safe detergent.
I'm not too mad, since I got all 40 for $156 and have used them for 2 months. I was spending just over $100/month on sposies, so I'm not really out much. Plus, I'm hoping there will still be several that stay in good condition (for instance, none of the white ones have problems as of yet) so I don't lose all of them. Still, it's irritating. I could have spent that $150 on fabric to make my own and had 20-30 good quality handmade ones!
