I have been on DH's medical insurance for 2 years and we have 90% IF coverage for testing/diagnosing only. Recently I signed up for medical through my employer because I spoke to the HR medical coordinator and she told me IF was covered 50% testing and treatment. We were thrilled to have a shot at doing IVF early next year since we'd only have to come up with half the cost. I called my insurance today to get specifics and they are telling me I have ZERO IF coverage!! I am livid!! That's the ONLY REASON I signed up!!

I am so sorry. That sucks so much. 

Hopefully it's a mistake on the part of whoever you on the phone with. Insurance is so finicky.

Can they confirm that in writing?  Not cool.  Your HR people need to get their facts straight.

This!  Hopefully it was just a mix up.  If not, is there anyway you can withdraw from your coverage and go back on your H's?

If it was your HR's mistake - make them pony up the dough for half of an IVF.    I'd be livid too.
