Typically, everyone in public always asks," When are you due?"
My typical response is "The end of the year and I'm carrying twins."
This always leads into a positive conversation and both parties are happy. Plus, I feel as big as a house, so I need to justify to them the reasoning behind why I am so large.
A lot of there responses are always, "You look so tiny for carrying twins. You look great!" I like to hear these responses and it gives me a little pick me up.
However, today, as I was picking up Chinese, a woman goes, "Wow- you are due any day now aren't you?"
I reply, "No, not until the end of the year" (I forgot to add on the twins part)
Her response, "You are going to have one big baby!"
Chinese man behind counter in cute chinese/american accent "She is having twins - identical girls!" (It's obvious I eat at this chinese place a lot since he knows my life story. Ha!) Thanks little old chinese man for sticking up for me ![]()
So, I guess everyone else was lying to me and I really am as big as a house.
To top it off, I get back to my desk to eat and I spill an entire packet of soy sauce down my green cardigan sweater. Boo
I'm already low on maternity clothes and to lose another shirt is devastating.
I can't wait to get home and just crawl into bed and take a nap. Okay- vent over.
Re: First negative stranger comment :(
I saw you at the g2g and you look great, and you are supposed to be bigger, there are two babies!
People always have something to say, even if it comes off wrong.
You look great Mama, be good to yourself!
As a fellow twin momma and seeing you Friday, I don't think you look that big. Don't let it bug you.

Some people just forget (or were never taught!) that clich? phrase when they were children.... "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
Sorry she made you feel bad and sorry about the soy sauce...here are some instructions on how to get it out
:
Eliminate Soy Sauce From Clothing
Take a clean cloth or paper towel to soak up as much of the soy sauce as you can. Do not rub the cloth into the fabric.
Turn your cold water faucet on and run water over the stain, from the back.
Get enough liquid laundry detergent to cover the stain completely and apply it to the affected area. Using your fingers, rub it in, but be gentle.
Add a dash of white vinegar, lemon juice or a mild bleach to the stain, if the article of clothing is white or made of colorfast fabric. Use a sponge to work the cleaning agent into the fabric.
Rinse the stain. Hold it up to the light to see if it came out. If not, repeat the application of laundry detergent and/or bleach, lemon juice or vinegar as needed until the stain is gone.
Saturate the area with a laundry gel or fabric treatment spray. Put the article of clothing into the washing machine and wash it with liquid detergent.
Check to see if the stain is gone before the clothing dries. If it's still there, reapply some liquid laundry detergent to it, prepare a tub of warm water and let the item of clothing soak for an hour. Rinse it off and wash it in the machine again.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm due on Christmas and I've been kind of sensitive about my "bump" because I think you'd have to know me to know I was pregnant. Otherwise I just kind of look fat. I guess that means I'm gaining weight all over rather than just a baby bump. But by 6 plus months you'd think I'd look like I was having a baby!!!
Regardless, I am allowed to say/think that. Other people are not. I went to a work event last week where a woman told me that "You don't really look pregnant, just thick."
Needless to say I was less than thrilled.
I saw you Saturday and I thought you looked fabulous. When I was carrying O around the same time as you are now I was swollen and big and I only had one baby.
Sorry about the Cardigan, maybe try soaking it when you get home? Or get DH to take you out for Mexican and get a nice big non-alcoholic margarita or daquiri!
People are so, so stupid. You should never tell someone they look like they're ready to go anytime. Is it okay to tell a non-pregnant woman she looks big?
I'm sure you look wonderful, and so many people wouldn't tell you that you look small unless it was true. They just wouldn't say anything! Just think of how incredible you are for taking such wonderful care of two growing babies. That's pretty awesome, for sure.
I have three words for you:
