Babies on the Brain

My body doesn't get it.

Twoish weeks ago at my PP checkup the doc confirmed I was having my first PP period. It was super light and mostly old looking blood. Well, today, 16 days later, looks like AF is freaking back again. I EBF so I never expected to get AF so quickly, and I'm no so crazy about it showing back up so soon after the first one.

  • I don't know if I would consider old blood at 5-6 weeks pp to be the first pp period.  I mean, I'm not saying your doctor was wrong, but I know I was still having bleeding and spotting on and off from the birth at that point.  Maybe just consider this to be your first pp AF (assuming it's actually red blood) even if just to make yourself feel better.  ;)

  • I'm normally just a lurker...but I have something to say!

I had pp bleeding for 8 weeks.  It was off and on.  It would go away for a week or so, then I would spot, or actually bleed a bit.  At my pp appt they told me that it was most likely my period too, and I was upset because I was ebf'ing and thought that delaying my period was a GREAT side effect/motivator!  Well, after those 8 weeks of weird bleeding episodes it stayed away for 9.5 months until I weaned.

    GL!

  • It is more red this time so I'll count this as number one I guess. I was looking forward to the perk of no AF, but oh well. I suppose it could still be PP bleeding... Doesn't make me like it any better though. :-)

  • Ditto Leslie I was definitely still having some light pp bleeding around 6-7 weeks. Actually, it didn't completely stop until 8ish weeks! I never thought it would stop!

I have bled pretty consistently every 2 weeks since I had N and she's EBF as well.  So I can relate.  It blows.

And HI!!!  Totally did not know you posted over here.  No clue how I missed that.  Camille is flipping adorable!

Hi Shoe! Every two weeks eh? That does blow. I need to swing by the BR board, it just takes so much clicking to get there! And thanks, we like her. :-)
