27 week appointment

I had my 27 week appointment on friday. The doctor sounded like everything is good the hb was 144 so that was good and my blood pressure. He measured me and i was measuring at 28 cm which is good. Then he tells me he wants to schedule an ultrasound at around 32 weeks to check on growth which didnt bother me. Until the nurse comes back in with a paper to call down to schedule my appointment for the ultrasound. It said he wanted to check growth, amt of amniotic fluid, small for gestational age. I was thinking to myself what does that mean he never mentioned this to me before, so i left my appoinment worried. I havent gained any weight yet. i actually lost 3 more lbs which brings my loss to 17 lbs. I'm overweight the way it was so i wasnt suppose to be gaining that much. I've been eating alot, i'm constantly hungry. I'm not really showing yet either, so i'm thinking thats what he was talking about with the small for gestational age or atleast i'm hoping thats what he was talking about. Any ideas? I have all my appointments scheduled now til the end and i go back in october 19th.

  • I would call back and ask. There is no reason for you to spend the next few weeks worrying about something if your doc can ease your mind.

Also, I have a friend that didn't gain hardly anything with her baby and her doc was constantly on her telling her that the baby was going to be small, etc. She ended up having an U/S too and it turns out that her baby was perfectly normal and healthy, she just wasn't gaining much weight.

  • I agree, I would probably not have left without talking to the doc again but you should call and ask...no need to fret for a few weeks.
