I had another Dr's appointment today and got to hear the results from my bloodwork. I had low platelets with Noah, but they returned to normal after I had him....but it's back

So apparently for me it's pregnancy induced for some reason. Right now we're sitting at 126 (norm is above 150) if it gets below 100 I may not be able to get an epidural.....we're planning for a VBAC, but I'm not planning on a med-free one! It got to 99 the day I had Noah, but they let me have it. So let's hope it doesn't drop anymore. We also had a great HB of 156, and 2 weeks until our elective gender ultrasound. Can't wait to find out!
Re: Thrombocytopenia - Boo!
Oh no! I hope that your platelets increase during the remainder of your PG, and you're able to get your epi AND attempt your VBAC!
Good news for the rest of your appt - nice strong HB!
I have a check-up today, so I'm hoping for good results and no concerns due to my high-risk status.
Hope you have a great appointment!
I kinda feel girl too, but I'm not really sure why. It may just be because I'd love to have one of each, or because it's been a lot different this time. I didn't have any strong feelings with Noah, so it will be interesting!
Boo. That stinks. So what do they do if your platelet count is too low and you do a c? Do they still do the spinal? I know that the platelet thing is a concern with pre-e/hbp too, since they had to do a blood test to confirm mine before I could get my epi with E since my BP was like 160/90ish the day of delivery. Thank goodness my bloodwork was okay with Eli... I am not, nor do I want to try to be, ready for a non-medicated birth EVER. I like my pain meds.

I have ITP and am having a c-section on Monday, October 18th. The c-section is scheduled not just do to the ITP but for a number of other reasons, too. However, I hate that my platelets are always way below normal
. Mine are below 100,000. I just hope they don't go too far below 100,000 because then I might be considered to risky for a spinal and have to be put under a general and not even be awake for the birth of my baby girl ~ boo on that! I hear you...
I should add that I have this condition even when I'm not pregnant. My platelets never return to a normal state. Low 100, 000's or even in the 80,000's is my normal.
