Hello Ladies,
I just found out that I was pregnant with our first and would like to start prenatal vitamins. I was in the store and there were so many options anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
I also am searching for a good doctor in the Lancaster area. I have never had an OBGYN appointment so I have no base of knowledge on where to start. As of this point I have no insurance and haven't for about 5 years now so the lower the cost the better.

Any input would be helpful
Re: prenatal vitamins and doctors?
First, Congratulations and welcome to the board!
I'm not in the Lancaster area, so I'm not help for doctors, but as for the prenatal vitamins, I think they are pretty much all the same. It basically comes down to finding one you can stomach, because if you're nauseous right now, they can upset your stomach. I use Up and Up PNVs from Target, and take a DHA capsule as well every day.
I'm no help for doctors, either, but my OB told me that all PNVs are essentially the same... I took Target's brand for my entire pregnancy, and only added an iron supplement from 28w - 39w because my iron levels came back low when I did the glucose test at 27w. Otherwise, my OB felt that the levels were fine as they were.
& congrats!
... every single day of forever.
to start you can take whatever prenatal vitamin you want but i would recommend one with DHA included. once you start seeing an obgyn they will more likely than not prescribe you some. my prescription ones with a coupon that my obgyn gave me that i can use for 11 months cost me $5 a month. that is actually cheaper than say CVS brand.
i go to lancaster physicians for women and they deliver at lancaster women and babies hospital. so far i am extremely satisfied with this practice. i do not know about no insurance and what the cost would be. you may want to call around and see.
