No experience with either, but I did research on a few a while back and discovered few things about diaper service that i didnt like... A. some diaper services use community diapers (so they drop off a clean bag of diapers to swap with the dirty ones, but they aren't specific to your child, they are shared) and B. The cost is much higher than it is for you to just wash them yourself (so you have to weigh time vs. $) and C. You can not control the type of detergents and processing thus, if your baby has a reaction, you cannot just change to a different detergent and be on your way like you could if washed at home.
There is a place in ferndale called No Pins Required that offers free classes on cloth diapering and the care/washing of them.
Thanks for the advice. I knew about the community aspect and wasn't too bothered by it, especially because their cleaning process is better than most home washer/dryers, from what I've read. Especially my laundry machines which I don't trust to make it through two years of cloth diapers. It's also my old washer/dryer which makes the service more affordable for us - I'm pretty sure we'd have to buy new washer/dryers and we're already spending so much right now that that cost will have to wait til they're really too old to work.
Out of curiosity, what did you end up using?

I came up with the same answers as the PP and ended up just washing our own. We don't feel that it's any harder on our washer/dryer than any other laundry. I wash our CDs every other day and it works for us.
