TTC after 35

take 2- can you help?

Ok ladies, here is the deal. I am close to the end of the 2ww and I think I can test as early as Thursday. Yesterday I noticed some discharge and I think i might have a yeast infection. WTH!!

I was reading on webmd that a similar thing could be a pg symptom and doesn't require treatment.

So do I sit until Thursday when I test without treating?

Do I test early?

Re: take 2- can you help?

  • How many DPO are you?

Are you in pain, or did you just notice discharge?

I wouldn't take medication unless I had more symptoms than the discharge (I have never had a yeast infection, so I might be giving you bad advice).

  • I think 14 DPO. Too early to test?

No pain but discomfort. I didn't have this symptom the first time I was pg but I know it could be different.

I don't want to test too early but I do want to nip this in the bud if it's not a BFP.

Here is the piece I read on webmd:

In addition to bleeding, you may notice a white, milky discharge from your vagina. This is related to the fact that, almost immediately after conception, the vaginal walls begin to thicken. It is the increased growth of cells lining the vagina that causes the discharge. This discharge can continue throughout your pregnancy, but typically it's harmless and doesn't require treatment. However, if you notice a foul odor to the discharge or a burning and itching sensation, you should contact your doctor. These could be signs of a yeast or bacterial infection

  • What is your usual LP? I dont think its too early to test but my normal LP is only 10-12 days. I would say if its itchy, or smelly, call your doctor. Otherwise, just wait it out.I wouldnt do any OTC meds until you know for sure one way or another.

  • If you're going to call you dr, you might as well test since it is likely they will want to test you, as well, before they decide how to treat. Good luck!

  • At 14 DPO, I would test and then call the doc.

Good luck - on both the test and that you don't have a yeast infection :)

  • Thanks for the input ladies! Now I just need to get to the end of the workday so I can get out of here :) More to report tomorrow!

  • If you are pg then that symptom may not go away the entire pgcy.  If discharge is the only symptom don't do anything wait until you can test at the end of 2ww.
