How long to get birth certificate?

Do you know how long it takes to get the babys new birth certificate in the mail?  We need to travel outside the US for my sister in laws wedding  shortly after the birth of this upcoming baby. 

When DD was born we processed the paperwork for her birth certificate while at Northside & then got it in the mail.  Although DD was just born in 2009 I cannot remember how long it took to get the birth cert. in the mail.

Do you know how long it takes to get the babys new birth certificate in the mail?  We need to travel outside the US for my sister in laws wedding  shortly after the birth of this upcoming baby.

I would go to their office and get a copy of it instead of waiting in the mail for it.  It only took me about 10 minutes to get it and $25.00. I'd be too afraid to wait around for them to send it in the mail.

I recently got mine in the mail.  It took about 1-1.5 months.

PP is correct.  I think it you have to wait 2 weeks before you can go in person to pick up the certificate.  I think that would be your best bet b/c then you would have it in hand instead of anxiously awaiting for it by mail.  .  I think you go to the health department but the paper they give you in the hospital will tell you where to go to get it or how to get it by mail.

Have they changed tihs? Last time we had to fill out the paperwork at the hospital and give it to the nurse then we had to wait for a letter to come in the mail to send in for the birth certificates.

I waited for the letter in the mail from the hospital, but instead of mailing the form out to get the certificate, I went in person. The wait wasn't that long and I got my certificate right away.
