I'm about a month into my zoloft. I was feeling good for awhile, intrusive thoughts had gone away, no anger, etc. All of a sudden the thoughts are back. My doctor had told me at my follow up that I may need to move up to 100 mg. Is it possible that the 50 mg just "stopped working"? As I said, I'm fairly new at all this, so wasn't sure why all of a sudden things were going backwards.
Re: Better...and then not?
Could be your body has habituated to the 50 mg. My therapist told me that most PPD patients don't really start to see long term, lasting reduction of symptoms on less than 100-150mg. I think 50mg is what OBs give people to "shut them up" basically (or at least, that's how I felt!) I started feeling much better on 100mg.
But everyone is definitely different, so absolutely discuss with your doctor and see if he/she thinks your dosage should be adjusted.
