Colace does Nada for me. Prune juice has worked wonders, if I down 8-20 ounces steadily at once. Wait 13 hours and voila. Also, drinking about 64 oz of water a day helps, but that adds to the belly bloat. Least of two evils.
I haven't taken any probiotics yet. So far I eat a bowl of raisin bran a day and drink a big glass of apple juice. Those 2 things have worked pretty well with my constipation.

Bananas are good for that problem. They help if you have the runs or are constipated. I eat one every day to stay "regular" (or at least make the problem slightly better).
It makes me feel like an old lady talking about what I do to stay regular.
