Bought my first house!!! PIP

I know its not much but I am so excited to have a home of my own. Its 4 bedrooms, hardwood floors through out, full basement. It sits on 5 acres of land on a lake!! The best part? Only $70k! Gotta love living in Michigan where it seems like they're giving away houses! Anyone want to come decorate??

OMG!! This house is adorable and 5 acres!?!  That house is worth a million (not joking) in LA.  Just to get RV parking you have to spend over $500k here.  I'm moving!!

Aww thank you! The house needs a lot of work because it was built in 1945... mainly paint, a new kitchen and bathroom but it will be worth it. I got an amazing deal considering it was listed at $89,900 and they took my offer. The money saved will be going into remodeling throughout the winter. I should probably learn how to use a riding lawn mower for all that land lol Lord help me!

Holy smokes that is an incredible price!!   Very cute home, all it needs is some flowers outside to brighten it up!  I bet you can't wait to start on the baby room ; )

That would cost close to a million dollars here in Vancouver. Seriously.

We are looking to puchase an acreage in the next few months and we would have to move to the boonies and it would still cost around $500,000

In town, an average 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom house on an eighth of a acre would cost $600,000.

ok, I just saw the 5 acre and lake part.  I missed that from the OP, but you're right about getting a riding lawn mower, lol.

I love it! I live in Michigan, too! Houses are next to nothing right now! DH and I built ours 5 years ago and could have gotten a house twice as big for what we paid for our, even building it ourselves. I wish I could dig up a pile of my perennials for you! You could have a whole flower garden in the spring!

Unfortunately won't be in before the baby because we want all the major renovations done first. Everything should be livable in the spring so maybe when he/she is a few months old. Right now I'm living with my parents about 3 miles away so it won't be a bad transition!
