I finally found my bedding...and am ready to press the *order* button. I keep waivering between two and three crib sheets though, based on what I have read. What do you all recommend? Do I really need 3?
I have 3 and use all of them. There have been instances where DD will spit up all over one and I'll change it and then her diaper leaks and I haven't washed the first yet. It doesn't happen often but, I don't have to rush to do the wash if it does happen. I just have one that came with the set and then 2 additional inexpensive neutral ones.
We have something like 5 of them - but received 2 Ultimate Crib sheets (which we love), so we have never needed more than 1 of the regular sheets so far (underneath).

i had 4 and even then i was doing laundry so much. at first, their poops (if you BF) are so runny that they're going all over teh place and their diaper probably won't fit properly. LO was leaking every day. pee or poop. a friend of mine told me a good trick was to double layer mattress pad, sheet, mattress pad, sheet, so if they get one wet/poopy, you can just rip off a layer of a sheet and mattress pad and have a clean set ready (good if this happens at night).
also, sheets shrink when you wash them so much, so i would have more b/c at least with us, it's hard to stretch the sheets out now after they've been washed so many times. it's nice to have more to put on to give some a break.
It depends on the baby, I guess. DS has leaked pee only once during the night. He doesn't spit up all that much. We have 4 sheets, and probably don't need that many.
I would go for 3. You never know when baby is going to leak and if you'll be able to get to your laundry right away, one would hope, but one never knows.
Re: How many crib sheets?
Do you find yourself using all 3? Or does one tend to hang out at the back of a drawer?

Good point. Thanks for the advice. I'm off to place the order!
my read shelf:
We have 3 and honestly have never needed more than 2.
DS has never spit-up much or been a puker though.
With this next LO I'll def only get 2.
