He slept through the entire first half (we left after that because it was hot; we were hot and it was time to feed him and change him). He didn't cry or jump when the cheering happened; band played NOTHING.
Should I be worried? I know he passed his newborn hearing test but can they really sleep through THAT much? I did wrap a blanket around his head. He ended up in my Beco carrier because the Ergo was just to hot for him with that insert.
OH- and my mom basically called me a bad parent for even attempting to take him to the game- despite the fact that we only stayed 1.5 hours; he was in his carrier; no one held him and he definitely wasn't cold.
Re: So took Collin to the UC game..
You aren't a bad parent! He's more than a month old....there's no reason you need to stay cooped up in your house. You're going to be doing that enough here soon since it will be cold. Get out while you can! Your mom would really think I was a horrible parent because I'd probably let somebody hold my DS if they wanted to!!
And I wouldn't worry about him staying asleep during it. I think it's normal for babies that age to sleep through quite a lot. DS slept through an entire Reds game when he was 6 months old....so I wouldn't worry about it. Glad you were able to get out and have a good time!
he is fine! and you arent a bad parent!! YOu cant be a hermit and he will eventually need to be exposed to the world. YOu didnt put him in any kind of danger and you were careful to not expose him to sick people. I hope you had fun!
Ditto. Pretty soon you might be going stir crazy because you are stuck in the house when it's cold outside.
Since you asked for my opinion, I'll give it. I think people get too worked up about not taking little ones out. Sam is just about two months and we take him everywhere and have since he was born because I can't keep my 2 yaer-old cooped up in the house all the time. Perhaps I am a horrible parent but my pediatrician hasn't told me to do anything different than what I have been doing.
You're fine, he's fine. He did well. And no, he's not deaf, newborns sleep through anything. Glad you were able to enjoy your time out.
