I love Claire, and Reid Allan. I really dislike Brenlee, Brenna, and Bryce. I think Gracie is cute as a nn but much prefer Grace for a FN; I don't think Gracie ages well at all.
Pretty much what everyone else said. Brenlee is truly awful. Brenna is okay. Gracie is a cutesy nickname-she's not going to be 3 forever. She'll appreciate a professional name someday. I really like Claire, but I'm starting to think it's becoming another "filler" middle name. I really like it for a first name though.
I have to pretty much agree with PP. I like Grace (could call her Gracie for a nickname) and Claire for the girl names. Not a fan of Brenlee or Brenna. I like all three of the boy names with my preferences (in order) being: Reid, Bryce, Dean.
Claire is my fav for girl for now. But i haven't found a mn I like. I do think the others wont age well now that I think about it. Dean is my little brothers name and Allan is my DH middle name.
I really dislike Brenlee in particular, and am not a big fan of Brenna either. They both just sound made up and sort of 80s. Gracie is really cute, but I think it sounds like a little girl's name and would personally use Grace with Gracie as a nn, so she could use Grace as an adult if she chose. Claire is my name and I have always been happy with it.
As for your boys' names, neither is really my style but they are both just fine. I prefer Reid Allan over Bryce Dean.
You seem to really like the bren- sound. How about Brynn?! Paired with a two syllable middle name, it could be great.
Welcome to the Baby Names Board! Please read the Board Sticky Note in my signature. It will give you a basic idea of the type of names that most of us like. HINT: If you can't find it on www.BehindTheName.com, our most trusted source for legitimate names, it probably won't go over well here.
I don't think it's ever too early to start thinking about names! The only problem with it is that you have to keep the names a secret for a longer period of time, and you could be tempted to share them- but don't!
I recommend reading the "9 Timeless Rules for Naming Your Baby". But most of us recommend changing Rule #3 to "Try out names on yourinternet friends"- That means us! We don't recommend telling your family or friends in real life because:
~Your creepy father-in-law could tell you that the name is sexy and ruin the name for you (this actually happened to a Bumpie a couple of months ago)
~Your friend could use the name before you have your baby, leaving you to decide whether to still use the name or not.
~Your sister could tell you that the name is off limits b/c that's the name she's wanted to use for her future daughter since middle school.
~Your mom could say "That's an old lady name!! I hate it!" NOTE: This happens a LOT, since our mothers are in a different generation than us. (Please see this article for more info on why)
Also, if you are looking for ideas, www.nameberry.com is one of our favorites. They have all kinds of great articles and lists, like
I wonder if you have been to the Social Security Administration website yet. It tells you all of the most popular baby names throughout the US.
I suggest any time you think of a new name for your list, you go to the SSA website, and look up it's popularity over the last 130 years (1880-2009). This way you can see if it's a traditional or trendy name, and find out the most popular spelling. You can decide on your own how popular is "too popular" for yourself. (My personal cutoff is 200).
On the right hand side of the screen, it says "Popularity of a Name".
For "Number of Years" enter 130 (that's as far back as it goes)
Don't select a gender. It will automatically go to whichever is most used. If it comes up with the wrong gender, you may want to rethink that name.
Then, of course, enter the name in the "Name" field.
Click "Go"
I really hope this helps. Good luck on your naming journey, and please keep us updated when you add/delete names. OH and feel free to do a Clicky Poll in your next post (see instructions in my signature). You will get a lot more votes that way!
I like Claire or Grace and Reid. I don't dislike Brenna, it just not my favorite. It think the people who didn't like it new some Brennas in high school....That why I usually cringe at certain names

Thanks a lot of good tips! I do like Brynn but I think I like Claire more but with a two syllable middle name which I am not sure of yet. I have not told anyone but yall and these are just ideas but I am even thinking about keeping the name a secret with family and friends untill birth. I have heard comments from my friends families that were not too great.
