I'm looking for a place to take DD to pick her own pumpkin, but am new to the area and haven't been able to find as much online as expected. Any recommendations?
The Nature Discovery Center's pumpkin patch (here is a clicky link www.naturediscoverycenter.org/page/pumpkin-patch) is a great place to pick out a pumpkin and enjoy an outdoor fall festival with games, crafts, food, vendors, etc. (I work there and I am biased).
But if you want to PICK a pumpkin (like from a vine in a field) you can't do that there. I wish I had U-Pick places to recommend to you if that is what you want. There is a U-Pick website that lists all the area farms for different crops and seasons, but I can't remember what it is.

Yea, I was looking for a farm to actually pick off the vine. I saw a website that listed a few places... but it was out of date... so i was hoping maybe someone on here knew of something. Unfortunately we're not around this weekend to go to the nature discovery center, but it looks awesome! Thanks for your help :-)
I just found the "you pick" website I was thinking of and it must have been the same one you found. Almost all of the entries for pumpkin related picking were out of date.
We went to Dewberry farm last year and had a great time even though we had no kids! You can take a little hay ride out to the field to pick your own plus they have lots of other things going on as well. https://www.dewberryfarm.com/
You can pick your own at Dewberry farm. However, we drove out there yesterday and it was MADNESS! We didn't even go in. Maybe you have to get there before they even open, but the line to get in was at least an hour long. I'm not sure if it gets better later in the season since they are open through late November. We'd love to go but not with that many people!

I think up until Halloween it is crazy. We went in November 2 years ago and it was just fine.
What we've found is that if you print tickets for Dewberry Farms ahead of time (buy online), then get in the line for advanced purchase tickets, you have very little wait in comparisson to the regular line. If you get there a little before they open and do the above it works out even better. We went last weekend and waited maybe 5 min from the time they opened our line up until it was our turn.
Thanks!!! This is exactly what I was looking for and more! Looks like so much fun :-) and thank you for the time saving tips! We're going to go next Sunday... hope the weather co-operates!
Re: need rec: pick your own pumpkin

Good luck finding something!
