Do you put wool soakers OVER a CD as the cover?
From what I understand. A wool soaker goes over a fitted, flat or prefold?
Also, lanolizing wool makes it more waterproof or what? I've found instructions on HOW to. but no one explains WHY to. haha
One last thing. does anyone know where to get wool shorties for cheap?!
I've found that they all seem to be at least 20 or more.
Just kidding one more question.
with flats, prefolds, fitteds, do you change the cover ever time you change the inside? and if we're just hanging out around the house do I need to put a cover on LO with flats prefolds and fitteds?
I'm slowly starting to understand all this stuff haha.
Re: I'm confused about Wool. but i think i want some haha
Thanks that really cleared things up.
about changing the covers tho.. i was actually talking about regular covers. i'm just confused why i've been recommended 6 covers for a 2-3 day wash if i'm using fitteds. that is only 2-3 covers a day...
When I used PFs exclusively, and I had four PUL covers (or, I guess you are calling them "regular covers") in rotation. If they are not soiled (pooped on), you can wipe off the PUL covers and hang them up or put them on a drying rack to dry to use at the next diaper change. So, 2-3 PUL covers may be enough for one day. However, I did hand wash my PUL covers daily -- they dry pretty quickly, esp in the sun. If a wool cover gets really wet, it may take a while for it to dry, so you may not be able to use it at the next diaper change.
I use fitteds on the weekends (my LO wears AIOs and pockets at daycare), and I have 3 wool soakers (covers), 2 pairs of wool pants/longies, and three overnight wool covers (more heavy weight). I have some PUL covers as well, but I don't use them. I like wool better.
Thanks guys! I had mostly assumed the answers to my questions but wanted to clarify before I go out and buy a bunch of stuff.
I really appreciate it!
