NIFR - Let's talk cameras!

Hey ladies! I am in the market for a new camera and am looking for recommendations! I am (currently) in love with this one:  https://www.walmart.com/ip/Canon-12.1-MP-SX20IS/12321797?sourceid=1500000000000003142050&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=12321797

Anyone have this one (Canon Powershot SX20 IS)?

What kind of camera do you own?

Is it point&shoot or dSLR?

What do you like about it?

What do you dislike about it?

What do you take photographs of normally?

If you could have any camera, which one would you get?

Nope

What kind of camera do you own? I have the Canon T1i

Is it point&shoot or dSLR? It is a dSLR

What do you like about it? It has video, was a really good deal, and it is very user friendly. I learned to shoot completly in manual mode in about 2weeks. I got a great deal on it too since it was refurbished from the Canon website.

What do you dislike about it? It was pretty pricey even with the great deal, but worth it in my opinion. Sometimes the Auto focus hunts in low light situations, but that is a common problem with any camera.

What do you take photographs of normally? I mostly take pictures of my nephews and neices and dogs, I also love taking macro pics of flowers and cupcakes and such. The two pics in my siggy were taken with my camera when I first got it.

If you could have any camera, which one would you get? I would stick with the one I have. I could never justify buying a multi-thousand dollar camera.

  • I have that one and I absolutely love it. Lots of amazing features. I'd love an slr but not in the budget right now. I have a smaller point and shoot as well.

  • I don't have that one.

What kind of camera do you own? Canon Rebel DSLR and a Canon point and shoot - I think SD1100

Is it point&shoot or dSLR? both

What do you like about it? The point and shoot is small, easy to use and takes great shots. But there is something to say about the look of the pictures with a DSLR. I love being able to get different lenses and the quality of the glass is so much better.

What do you dislike about it? The DSLR is bulky - especially if you have different lenses you need to take with you. You have to be willing to deal with the "bulk" factor when you want to take it with you.

What do you take photographs of normally? Family and vacation pictures. If I have the DSLR, I love wantering around a city and just taking pics of whatever I like - I also try to take some portrait type shots of the kids in our family. It's fun to pretend!

If you could have any camera, which one would you get? A DSLR - wouldn't mind a better one - or many more lenses!!

Anyone have this one (Canon Powershot SX20 IS)? No.  You can most likely find it from another online dealer for less$.

What kind of camera do you own? I am a photography teacher for a living. I own MANY: Canon, Olympus, Nikon, Konica

Is it point&shoot or dSLR? Both

What do you like about it? Good durability, great features (different modes-with easy access to change) hot shoe (place for flash to be added)

What do you dislike about it? I hate when cameras have unadjustable ISO

What do you take photographs of normally? Anything and everything, I like portraits and macro photos the best.

If you could have any camera, which one would you get? Nikon D3S or D3X

  • What kind of camera do you own? Canon Rebel XTi and a Nikon Coolpix

Is it point&shoot or dSLR? Canon is a dSLR and Nikon is a point and shoot.

What do you like about it? I like the Canon b/c it takes really good action shots and instant pictures. I like the Nikon b/c it's really small but still takes really good pictures.

What do you dislike about it? I have yet learned how to use the Canon to it's full extent and the lens I have for it is kind of heavy but it takes really good pics. The only thing I don't like about the Nikon is the delay btwn the picture you wanted and the picture you get.

What do you take photographs of normally? The intentions of the SLR was to photograph our children and vacations. Right now I just take random pictures. My point and shot stays in my purse so that I always have a camera on me.

If you could have any camera, which one would you get? I wish I would have gotten a Nikon dSLR instead of the canon.

After 3 years of infertility we were blessed with twin girls through private infant adoption.
