LO Cries when DCP Gets Off Floor. WWYD?

My day care provider said my LO is clingy lately and cries and crawls after her if she gets up from the floor were she is playing (like to get lunch ready or help another kid). What can I do? It breaks my heart and makes me think she is feeling insecure about something. Advice?

Re: LO Cries when DCP Gets Off Floor. WWYD?

  • That's pretty standard separation anxiety, is it not?  Our DCP has started making eye contact with Sam and holding up a finger saying "I'll be right back," or "I'll be back in one minute." That way he associates her saying that with knowing that the absense is temporary.  Worth a shot - but it sounds like a phase.  Poor pumpkin!
