about what weight for OS?

DS was 9lbs when he was born.  He lost a bit of weight at the hospital, but was back up to his birth weight at his 1week check up.  We're good with prefolds during the day, but he wakes up at night soaked and crying, and sometimes doesn't want to eat all that much, so if he was a bit dryer he might be willing to sleep for another hour.

Anyone have a suggestion on a weight or size for OS diapers?  I know some of them advertise them as 8lbs to 35, but I doubt that they would have fit him when he was born.  DS is currently on the second snap on his Thirsties Duo size 1 covers, and might be close to going to no snaps soon.  My friend's son wore the size 1s till he was almost 6 months, I don't want to have to buy size 2s for a month or so old<.<

It's really going to depend on the build of your baby.  Most women here will say a OS won't fit until 10-12 pounds but DS was wearing is OS diapers with no problem around the 9 pound mark.  He's so long he grew out of his newborn diapers in 4-5 weeks because the rise was too short.

DS was over 9lbs at birth, and then back up to it at a week.  He has to be 10lbs at this point<.<  He also was on the second snap of his Thirsties duo cover as soon as he was home from the hospital.  I don't know about NB sized diapers, as we just bought prefolds and Thirsties duo covers.  He was 21 inches at birth as well.  I guess it helps that I'm almost 5'10 and DH is 6'4.

I would maybe just have a few on hand to continue trying on LO until it fits.  It will be hard to say otherwise.  Unforuntately there's no real magic weight...everyone is different.
