I find it sort of funny that they have to say that women who drank a lot during pregnancy did have children with lower test scores!
Funny though that you never see articles that talk about pg women packing on the weight while pg endangering their children for a predisposition to obesity or mother's ending up with GD. Or on the opposite end of mom's that don't eat enough and their children have a low birth rate.... Can't they just come out with "keep things in moderation" and leave it at that lol?
Re: Another pg drinking article...
I don't understand why we (as a society) go back and fourth so much on the issue of drinking while pregnant. For most of us, to not drink alcohol for 9-10 months isn't a really big deal.
Not really a new article. It's a blog post restating what's been stated again and again.
Although, I think your statement about mother's weight during pregnancy and GD is a bit off and misleading.
Agreed! Except you've got idiots like my old clients that don't understand the term "moderation" and would drink a 6 pack every day because that was "cutting back" from their 12 pack a day habit (and I'm not kidding, I can't tell you how many times I heard this and had to keep a straight face). Although, I also worked with a special breed of people who had their children taken away for a reason. But I digress. For the average person, this advice should be given.
That was sort of my point.
This!
