From someone who is soooo not creative...
So I always see you girls make adorable invitations for your little ones. How do you do this? What kind of program do you have?
I need some invitiations for a friend's baby shower in orange, pink, and brown colors with a "cute as a button" theme, and I can't find any online.
Help!

Re: Make your own invitations?
I had one of the girls on here (little-peanut) make the Mickey Mouse invites I used for Tyler's birthday
She's very clever and creative. I gave her a general idea of what I wanted and she went to town.
I am definitely not clever enough to make them on my own.

I did check Etsy. I haven't ordered anything on there before, so I guess I didn't know you could ask them to custom make something. I will look into that.
Thanks!
If you see a seller you like, you can just send them a message and tell them what you're looking for and see if they can do it for you. I've bought a couple of birthday shirts for my kids that way.

If you want to make your own, you could buy cards at Michaels that are brown, print out Cute as a Button on it and buy buttons in the co-ordinating colors to glue on.
Etsy is fabulous though if you don't want to make your own.
And there are several girls on the craft board that sell on Etsy, so if you posted there and asked them for recos, they can give you some good Nesties to check out too.

I ask someone else to do it
One of my good friends has a graphic design degree and I have her do them for the most part, and she uses Photoshop. She's very affordable, and really just does design work in her spare time right now, so if you'd like I can get you her information. She's also very knowledgeable about printing and cardstock options so her invitations look very professional - I like them more and thought they were better than some I had ordered from Tiny Prints in the past.
For that friend's bridal shower, I used Kristen (little_peanut) and she did a great job and was very reasonably priced. My friend loved the invitations Kristen did.
I have also purchased from Etsy. I would have used my friend like I always do since she does it for free, however, this particular invitation had matching stuff that went with it (cupcake toppers, favor tags, etc.) so I just bought that package. Etsy is a great option because you can either find a seller who designs/prints them for you, or they can just do the design work for you for a small fee (usually $10-15) and then send you the digital file and you can have them printed yourself (I print/cut at Kinko's and think they are very reasonably priced).
Also, since you haven't used Etsy before, check out this seller:

I've ordered a ton from Etsy and I used this particular seller for Ava's latest birthday party invitations, cupcake toppers and favor tags. She was great to work with, very speedy, willing to do/change anything I wanted and she did the digital file for my invitation for something like $8. After I approved it, she sent it to me and I took the file to Kinko's to print/cut for another $10 or so (that was using their cardstock). She can also print them if you'd like. She printed/assemled all of my other supplies--cupcake toppers, favor tags, etc--and mailed them.
