?? About the Sun

This is one of those questions where I feel stupid asking, but if I don't ask, I won't find out.

How do you sun out a stain?  Do you literally just put the CD out in the sun, or do you do something else as well?

I hang my CD's outside on a cloths line.  The sun really does work great for stains!

All you have to do is put a damp cd out in the sun.  Make sure you put the area that is most heavily stained directly in the sunlight.

I have even put them out dry!

It works for clothes too.
