Hi ladies,
I was recently diagnosed with GD and just had my meeting with the dietician this past Wednesday. Since I started checking my bs levels, they have all been fine (90-123 for the one hour test post meal) with the exception of my am fasting numbers (114, 118). The dietician recommended that I eat a snack when I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, which I did last night, but I still got my 118 reading this morning. I ate some Trader Joe's crackers with cheese for 16g of carbs and 2g of protein.
The dietician is off until next week, so I'm hoping to steal some ideas for midnight snacks from you ladies. What works for you? what doesn't? what does not take too much effort to eat half asleep?

greek yogurt with fruit and some splenda works for me
Perhaps a glass of milk? I've had glasses of skim milk in the middle of the night a few times, due to acid reflux, and my BS has been the same or better than usual in the morning. I was quite surprised.
For my bedtime snack I sometimes have cheese and crackers, cottage cheese and fruit, sugar free pudding and a slice of cheese.
