water level ?

We bought fitteds and prefolds to use for our newborn. But, we hated the prefolds and are only using the 8 fitteds that we have. When washing do I still need to put the water level on oversize for 8 diapers and a pail liner? It seems excessive? TIA!

I do a super load each time, but I'm washing at least 15 diapers.  If I only had 8, I might do a large load instead.  I do think there needs to be a lot of water to get the diapers totally clean, but you probably don't need to fill the washer all the way to the top.
