Weekly Weight Loss Check In!!

Here is our weekly check in of those of us on the weight loss wagon!

How did you do this week? What were your successes? Challenges? Victories? Complete and utter failures (hopefully not, but hey, we all have those weeks from time to time)?

How are you moving toward your goal(s) and what are you finding helps get you there faster?

Any great recipes to share?

I hope everyone had a great week and I am looking forward to hearing what is working for everyone so we can share our successes together!

Good luck ladies!

Re: Weekly Weight Loss Check In!!

  • Well, I made it to my meeting today. It was a harrowing experience. Even though it was a Mommy and Me meeting I wouldn't be surprised if they asked me not to bring Katherine back. She was horrid. I even brought toys to occupy her but she still had a time out while we were there. She threw something at someone, hit me, yelled her little "this is the noise I make when you tell me to be quiet" screech. It was to the point that another mom felt she had to reassure me that it gets easier as they get older. Great thanks! I was not having warm and fuzzy feelings towards my eldest child today.

I am .2 pounds down from when I started WW in January 2009. So that feels like 21 months wasted and down the drain. The official amount I have to lose to goal is 47.6 pounds. So let's just call it 50. Feels like 500 right now. I just want to tackle the first 5 right now and even that is feeling overwhelming.

And then I had issues with the WW online tools when I couldn't log in.

So basically today has sucked and I am feeling angry, embarrassed, and discouraged. And it's only day one!

Hope everyone else has had a great victorious week!

  • I normally don't reply on this post, but I will be in February :)

I just wanted to share that I am 25 wks PG and wearing a skirt (zip up, not elastic) that I wore before my DS was born and it is still big!!

I don't know whether to be happy about this that I've lost weight since then or that I was that big beforehand.  I only lost about 15-20 lbs and I guess I'd never thought it'd made that much of a difference in my clothing sizes.

I really hope to get back on my pre-PG diet bandwagon after this baby.

  • I lost another pound, so I'm down 15 total.  I started Zumba last week and I'm liking it.  I'm back to tracking my food this week which helps too.

    Good luck to everyone!

  • My weigh-in day is Saturday, and I lost 1.2 lbs. The past couple of weeks have been pretty good as far as weight-loss goes, but I'm still not doing any exercise. I don't know how anyone with kids finds the time/energy to work out, because I swear I'm running from the time I get up at 6 until the time I go to bed at 11. I'm sure there has to be time in there somewhere, but I'm struggling to find/make it. I FINALLY went down a size, which feels pretty good. I still have 22.4 lbs to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, and probably another 10 lbs after that to feel like I'm back to "normal." I agree with you, Moesten, it's a long road! Don't get discouraged, though - set small goals (sometimes I have to force myself to stick to program for one day at a time) and don't beat yourself up about any setbacks!

  • Kudos to you for getting to a meeting.  I'm not ready to attempt that yet.

DH and I have been doing WW online together for the past 3-4 weeks in earnest.  He's lost 6 lbs and I've lost 5.  I gained 0.5 lbs last week and I chalk that up to Tyler's birthday, having relatives stay with us, and having cake in the house.  Vegan or not, it was divine.

I am finding it much harder to stay on program now that I am a SAHM than when I was working.  We don't even really keep a lot of junk in the house, but the simple fact of the matter is, we have food in the house and that's all it takes.  I think we've decided to go trick-or-treating with both boys as a family, so that means we don't have to buy any Halloween candy.  Thank goodness for that, I might eat all of the M&Ms myself.

I ordered the 30 Day Shred DVD along with 2 other of Jillian's videos last week and they were shipped yesterday.  I am actually excited to start working out (sort of).  I'm hoping the exercise will help budge some of my "softer" areas, not to mention I'm really after the mental boost.  I need a pick-me-up in the worst way.

  • Hi ladies! I haven't posted on this board in forever, but have been lurking for about a month now- I'm Lauren and have two boys Michael and Robert. I have been doing Weight Watchers for 7 weeks now, so sharing and reading about your weight loss stories is great motivation. I weigh in on Saturdays at my local meeting and lost 2.2 lbs to bring me to 13 lbs overall or 5% body weight lost. I haven't worked out as much as I'd like this week, but will go again tonight and tomorrow before weigh in. I do find that I am sacrificing family time to work out because I don't get home from work until around 5:45 and I usually leave to work out around 7:30 each night. I have to do this though- I've never been able to lose weight just by changing my diet.  I have 24 lbs to get back to first pre baby weight and then another 50 lbs to get to where I want to be.   I like this weekly check because the more I talk about it with people, the more likely I am to stick with it. Awesome job to you all!

  • After 2 weeks of being on thyroid medication, I weighed this morning, and I'm done 5lbs. I'm happy b/c I've been exercising/eating right consistently for months with absolutely NO results, and finally went to the MD and was diagnosed. I hope I continue to see results.
  • Thanks for keeping this post going!  I have 30lb to lose.  I just started getting more intense about getting the weight off in the past month.  So far, I am down 6lb.  3 of those 6 happened since last Friday.  Finally, I am seeing some results.

I am just watching what I eat.  No refined sugar, cutting down on convenience and fast foods, eating tons of fruit and veggies, very few liquid calories, and limiting red meat.  I eat 6 small meals a day.   I drink water by the quart, and try to get close to a gallon a day.  I really think the water helps immensely.   I also make myself exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day, every day.  I do count heavy duty (not ordinary weekly stuff) cleaning (which I have been doing a lot of) as exercise.  I try to run 3 times a week, but the knee still gives me problems.  If I don't run, I will do the Shred, pilates, Tae Bo, or Wii Fit.  Depends on my mood.  I can't do the same thing every day.  Finally, after doing those things for 2 weeks, the weight is coming off.  I officially weigh in on Saturday morning, so I am hoping to see another little bit of loss this week.

    Good luck everyone!
