If your LO has had the stomach bug

How did it start?  Connor has been complaining for the last day or so about his tummy hurting but he's been eating ok and no other symptoms.  But, daycare just called and said that he was crying about his stomach hurting and he's running a low fever.  Does this sound like the stomach bug or something else.  I plan to take him to the dr when I pick him up.  On my way out the door now, I'll check back in when I get home.

DS had the stomach bug in April.  He can't talk so I'm not sure to what degree his stomach was hurting.  However, DS stomach bug was accompanied with lots of vomiting and major diarrhea (sorry for being graphic!).  It sounds like Connor could have another issue.  Do you think he's gassy or constipated instead?  I'm not sure what to make of the low-grade fever.

Nate hasn't had the bug yet, but I have.  Mine started on Sunday night with a really bad stomach ache.  Then on Monday morning, I was really nauseated.  By Monday afternoon I was running a fever and then the nausea turned into diarrhea.  The fever didn't last too long, but it has taken until today for my stomach to be back to normal.  I somehow managed not to throw up, but I imagine if Nate gets it, he'll end up throwing up some.

Sounds to me like he could have the bug with a tummy ache and a low fever.  I hope it turns out to be something else.

the stomach bug normally starts with a little belly pain, but mostly vomiting and/or diarrhea. If he has belly pain, a fever, and no vomiting or diarrhea, I'd definitely get him checked by his doctor. Ear infections and strep throat can cause belly pain in kids.  Hope your LO feels better soon!
