I'm posting a day early since we are going to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live tomorrow and I don't know if I'll get a chance to post the check-in. If someone would like to they can link back to the OP tomorrow for those who don't see it today.
Question 1: How are things going so far? Any difficulties with sticking to the diet?
Question 2: What is your Dr. doing as far as monitoring the GD and for monitoring baby because of the GD? If you don't know the answer to this, definitely discuss this with your Dr. at your next appt!

Question 1: How are things going so far? Any difficulties with sticking to the diet?
I just started on glyburide two days ago to help control my fasting sugars, so far so good, but now it seems to be throwing my afternoon numbers off. I've been told to wait a week and see how my body adjusts before we make any changes.
I'm trying to be good about the diet, but I find myself getting tempted by sweets constantly, I do allow myself to have sweet stuff occasionally but I'm sure it's going to be even harder soon with the Holidays coming up.

I have to send my numbers to my diabetes counselor every week, who then faxes them to my OB. And she never forgets. I have an email in my inbox from her reminding me I didn't send them yesterday.
As for monitoring the baby I start weekly BPPs and NSTs next week, and will have them every week until baby is born.
1) Things are going. I get ANGRY about the things I shouldn't eat. It's kind of silly, but I will literally get upset. I'm getting used to it. Sticking to the diet hasn't been too hard. Just frustrating.
2) So far I get to poke myself 4-6 times a day to test my blood sugar. I also have to test my keytones in the morning. The keytones have been the hard part. The blood sugar is perfect... the keytones... I can't figure out how to get them down. *sigh* As for checking the baby, I'm going to be getting extra ultrasounds, and doing nst's. Other than that, I'm not sure
Hey all -
Question 1: Things are OK. I've met with my endocrinologist twice and a nutritionist once. The nutritionist was totally useless - just told me how many carbs I can have with each meal and pointed me to one or two websites I had already found about where to look up carb content. She said nothing about protein, other nutrients, or how to make sure I don't lose too much weight giving up carbs - I haven't gained ANY weight this pregnancy as it is!!
The endo said my numbers from my first week were not so bad and said that I can start testing two hours after eating instead of one. The problem is, I've cheated the past two days. :-( I had white rice two days ago, and my number was way too high. Last night I indulged in some breaded mushrooms and my numbers were ridiculous. I'm definitely learning that not all carbs are created equal - my body can handle some and not others. White rice is the worst. Bread is not so bad.
Question 2: I have not yet met with my OB regarding the GD, just my endo. My next appointment (28 weeks) is a week from tomorrow and we will discuss it then.
ETA: stress seems to REALLY affect my numbers. I had an insurance scare last night and my after dinner number was 190! Also, I work part-time. My fasting numbers on non work mornings are much better than my numbers on work mornings.
Question 1: How are things going so far? Any difficulties with sticking to the diet? Things are going pretty well. I am learning how to adjust to the change in carbs and fruit I can eat. I met with the nurse at the Diabetes center today and she praised my meal choices and numbers. I am going to try a few things to see if it impacts my after breakfast numbers since those are a little high- even though I eat a really good balanced breakfast.

I will find out on monday at my 28 week appointment. I have alot of questions and am looking forward to learning more.
