North Carolina Babies

4am really???

Ugh...so last week DS started waking up at 4:00am...he'd play for a little bit (30-45 mins) then was ready to get up. We'd go in, lay him back down and turn the mobile on and occasionally he'll fall back asleep until it's really time to get up. I didn't think anything of it last week because he was super miserable with teething, just figured it too would pass...but we're on week 2 now...last night I got him up and rocked him a bit because he was all worked up and he went right back down after that. So frustrating!!! We were on 3 months of STTN!! ugh...Momma is tired!!! Sad

Re: 4am really???

  • Sleep for babies under one changes from week to week.  Hopefully he'll get back to STTN soon.  My only advice would be to try to get yourself to bed earlier just in case he keeps waking up at 4am.  GL
  • same boat here.  ds had finally started sttn about 2-3 months ago... now all of a sudden the past week, maybe 2 weeks he has started waking up again anywhere from 2-4am.... only he is NOT a happy camper when he wakes up.  we did CIO to get him to sttn and that method is not really working at the moment.... so i feel ya on being tired!! LOL

no tips here, but you definitely have my sympathy!

  • Yeah, unfortunately this is one of the less than glamorous things about having a baby!! Big Smile  Will still goes through phases of not STTN, from about June-Sept he was waking 1-2x a night.  Ugh.  But thankfully with him all I have to do is quietly go in, get him, rock him for a minute, then he goes right back to sleep.  It all just comes with the territory - good luck, hopefully it passes soon!

Really, though, I'm sorry to hear you're losing sleep. No fun!
