I had my OB appt this morning. The internal exam was more uncomfortable than I was expecting! I heard it was bad, but youch! Turns out I'm 2cm dilated and 80% effaced! Of course, as with most things this doesn't mean labor is imminent, but my doctor has a feeling I'll deliver within the next 2 weeks. We'll see!

wow!! how exciting...i think the effacement is the most telling sign... i think your LO will be here before halloween!!
oh and i found the discomfort associated w/the exam definitely depends on the doctor. i had one male ob who did it and i did not feel one bit of discomfort!

That is interesting! I kind of had to pee when she checked me so I know I was tensed up a bit. I hope it's not as uncomfortable next time!
Yay for progress!!! You can practically go into labor any day now :-). My bebe is still chillin' inside my belly and I don't feel like she's coming out anytime soon
lol.
I am with Jaime. My first internal exam was not uncomfortable at all. It was with a male doc. I wonder if that makes a difference? I'll have one with a female doc this week. I'll see if there's a difference.
I was surprised how uncomfortable the internal was too.
YAY for progress!
I agree...it sounds like anyday now! how exciting!!
