This is my first baby so I know this may be a stupid question, but I am wondering about how the crib skirts work once you drop the mattress? Wouldn't they droop/gather on the floor?
Also, how many height levels are there? I know it's highest when the baby is a newborn, and lowest when the baby can stand up/climb out of it - is there one in between?
I'm asking because I'm wanting to sew my own skirt, but ideally I wouldn't want to have to shorten it once baby gets older...thanks in advance for your advice!
Re: Crib skirts question
Since this is our first LO, I can't help with IRL experience, but our crib mattress has 3 different heights, though I don't know why. I always thought there was just the two myself.
We're going to use the skirt while in the higher position (otherwise the brackets show) and when we drop it, we'll probably just take it off altogether.
If you are going to sew it yourself, you could always make two, one for each of the heights. That way, when you drop the mattress, you just change the skirt and no droop/gather.

I'm making my own crib skirt. I found this tutorial. It's adjustable and no sewing involved. Just iron-on hem tape and velcro!

Perfect! I think that's what I'm going to do. Funnily enough, I was at PB Kids earlier and one of the salespeople said she had her crib bedding made custom and she just pinned it up as the mattress dropped. I found it funny that someone who works at PB had hers made custom
