Question for those with a Phil and Teds with doubles kit

How long did you have your LO sitting in the double seat in the rear position before he/she couldn't stand it anymore?  Also, I know the new Explorer double seat has an attached shade but all the other models don't.  Does not having the shade bother you?

My local baby store doesn't have a demo of the explorer yet and I need to purchase a dbl stroller soon for an upcoming trip.  Should I just buy an explorer online without actually seeing it in person or go for one of their other models that i have seen?

I haven't used my doubles kit yet BUT have lots of friends with this stroller and they actually say that their kids fight over the back seat... I've heard great things about the Explorer I'd probably get it if I didn't already have the sport.

Thanks so much! I ask because my friend is selling her Vibe but the Explorer has ALL the features I want in a double... shade cover for both kiddies, can use the infant carrier with the doubles seat, one hand fold, etc.  I guess the thought of owning a Vibe for such a great price excited me...even though it doesn't have the features that I want.

My daughter who is 3 will still sit down there and will fight to get that seat. We use it as a double with a friend instead of taking2 strollers. My sport can be used with the infant seat so I'm guessing as long as your car seat can be used on the vibe then you can as well. Phil and Ted says it can't be done but many people do it and have posted photos on Phil and teds face book page. Not have the shade does not bug me at all. If you really want one you can buy an after market one. Also people have said the ray shade from babies r us can be used.
